Just a couple of days removed from a three-day stretch in which the Carpinteria boys soccer team played five games, the Warriors didn’t have much left in the tank in a 1-0 loss on the road at West Ranch on Monday afternoon.
“I think the games over the weekend got to us,” said coach Daniel Torres, whose Warriors are still off to a good start at 5-2.
Torres singled out centerback Jose Sanchez for leading the defensive effort.
The Warriors play again on Thursday at Nordhoff, but don’t play at home again until next Tuesday.
