Sophomore Hannah Warwick had one of her best matches of the year according to coach Roger Kuntz, but the San Marcos girls volleyball team couldn’t keep up with Arroyo Grande in a 25-7, 25-22, 25-16 sweep at the Eagles’ nest on Tuesday.
“Basically the pace that they were able to run their offense was almost two times faster than what we had in our offense,” said Kuntz.
“Our passing broke down in the first game and got better in the second and third, but our hitters couldn’t put the ball away against a very good blocking team and an outstanding defensive team.”
The Royals finish up the season at 15-10.
“It was a disappointing way to end the season but they were a very good team and very well-coached,” said Kuntz of the Eagles, who improved to 27-2.
