The Santa Barbara High girls volleyball team advanced to the CIF Division I-A semifinals with a 25-19, 25-22, 25-17 sweep at Valencia on Monday night.
Sophomore Eve Ettinger had 17 kills and “was bombing balls” according to assistant coach Lee Carlander.
Next up for the Dons is a home match at 6 p.m. Wednesday against mighty Marymount, a team which has a higher national ranking than the Dons despite losing to Santa Barbara at the Archbishop Mitty Tournament earlier in the season.
“What they bring to the table is a lot of defense and enthusiasm,” said head coach John Gannon. “We’re going to have to play our best to stay with them.”
