The Dos Pueblos girls volleyball team swept into the CIF Division I-A semifinals on Saturday thanks to a 25-17, 25-19, 25-21 shellacking of Los Osos in the inland empire.
“We did a great job of coming in and pushing them first,” said head coach Dwyane Hauschild, who said the Chargers never allowed the partisan Los Osos crowd to become a factor. “They were just very composed.”
The Chargers draw Laguna Beach in Tuesday’s semifinals with the location to be decided on Monday by coinflip.
Carly Wopat led the Chargers with 16 kills. Caitlin Racich and Sam Wopat tallied 10 each. Hannah Powers led the team with nine digs. The setting tandem of Sammie Brown and Paige Craine recorded 43 assists between the two of them.
“The girls went to work,” further explained an elated Hauschild. “It was just workman-like production.”
