Cate cuts down Dunn to seal CIF spot

Michael McMahon passed for two touchdowns and ran for a pair more as the Cate football team clinched a playoff berth with a 47-21 victory over visiting Dunn on Saturday.

The Rams (5-3, 3-1 Condor League) suited up 35 players for the game and 34 got to play. Backup quarterback Mackie Greason came in to run for a pair of scores and also threw a 34-yard score to Luke Shover.

McMahon’s touchdown passes were to Jackson Mauze and Randy Person.

“We think our best game is yet to come, because we start only two seniors on either side of the ball and the guys are still gaining experience. the new season starts on Monday,” said coach Ben Soto.
