Captain Erica Cano was a vocal leader on Wednesday, charging her team with staying on point in the heat at Westlake. Her teammates stepped up to the challenge and then some, coming home with a 17-1 rout of the Warriors.
Just like Tuesday’s match against Arroyo Grande, singles players Cano, Lauren Stratman and Hayley Edwards didn’t drop a set. And also like Tuesday, Shelbi Nigh spelled Edwards and captured a set of her own. Charger singles players have now won 36-straight sets.
Dos Pueblos gets its 16th victory on the season to just two losses.
The tandem of Amy Sagraves and Amy Sagraves went about their business in three wins, as did Oriane Matthys and Nicoletta Bradley, who rallied in all three of their wins. Sofia Pasternack won a set with two different partners. Anna Slyutova started and helped Pasternack to the first and Nicole Eskenazi came on for the second.
The Chargers have another non-league match on Friday at Santa Ynez before Tuesday’s rematch with Channel League-leading Santa Barbara.
