Carpinteria’s girls volleyball team won its first game against St. Bonaventure on Thursday, but errors eventually caught up with the Warriors in a 24-26, 25-22, 25-16, 25-17 Tri-Valley League loss.
“We shot ourselves in the foot,” said coach Katie Dolge, who blamed mis-communication and poor passing on a lot of free points for the Seraphs.
Libero Ydira Saldana came up with 21 digs. Offensive weapons Caitlin Wallace and Megan McMahon knocked down 16 and 7 kills respectively.
Dolge also highlighted the play of setter Hannah Denitz and Kelci Jones.
The Warriors have rival and new member to the Tri-Valley League Bishop Diego on Tuesday.
