Middles shine in Kuntz’s 200th win

Grace Conner and Jenn Waddill dominated the middle, combining for 30 kills as San Marcos put together one of its best matches of the year in a 25-20, 25-17, 25-18 sweep at Santa Ynez.

“Jenn really put a complete match together, and her approaches were really dynamic,” said San Marcos coach Roger Kuntz who collected his 200th career win in 10 years of coaching varsity prep volleyball.

Santa Ynez has a Division I caliber player in Aly Squires, but Kuntz said that the Royals were able to “pretty much nullify her.”

Kuntz also said that the Royals passing was “almost automatic,” with the back row being led by Emma Campbell and Kristin Schroeder. Kristen Kuntz also had a spectacular night setting the ball, according to the coach.

Next up is a match against Laguna Blanca.
