With all three individual standouts healthy at the same time, Laguna Blanca’s girls tennis team (5-4, 2-2 Condor League) came together and pulled out a win over Thacher Saturday that was decided by games, 73-66, after a 9-9 tie in sets.
Esther Tran-Le went 3-0 as did Liza Fletcher, and Anabella Watters was 2-1 on the day. The team of Lauren Danson and Haley Sternin picked up the Owls’ only win. Laguna’s playoff hopes are still alive heading into a match against rival Cate.
“It was a good day for our singles, because none of them lost more than a game per set,” said coach Geoff Pryce. “Now we just need a doubles team to step up.”
