Dos Pueblos handed Laguna Blanca its first girls volleyball loss on Monday as the highly ranked Chargers swept the Owls 25-16, 25-20, 25-18 at Laguna.
DP’s Caitlin Racich had 9 kills, and coach Dwayne Hauschild commended the serving of Paige Crane and Sami Wopat.
“It was a good tuneup for us,” said Hauschild, whose No. 3 Chargers will now ready themselves for Thursday’s clash with No. 1 Santa Barbara. “I’m happy with the fact that we get to shake off some rust to get ready.”
Jackie Harvey and Katie Borden led Laguna’s attack, getting 17 kills between the two of them. Jessie Ditmore and Annie Varni each had four blocks.
The Chargers improve to 12-2; the Owls are now 6-1.
