Chargers bounce back with alternates

The heat was still stifling a day after Dos Pueblos’ narrow loss to crosstown-rival Santa Barbara, but the Chargers didn’t sweat it against Ventura in a 15-3 victory.

Some of the alternates got a chance to take care of business this time, which is exactly what they did.

Shelbi Nigh was “all business” according to coach Liz Frech, going 2-0 in singles play while Kee Kee Daniel also quickly won her singles set. In doubles action, the team of Sofia Pasternack-Nicole Eskenazi went 1-1 and the sister-tandem of Lilli and Kim Preston were 1-0.

Dos Pueblos hosts San Luis Obispo on Saturday.
