The singles trio of Esther Tran-Le, Liza Fletcher and Annabella Watters went a perfect 9-0 on Wednesday, losing a total of two games through the nine sets as the Laguna Blanca girls tennis team handed Frontier-League champion Bishop Diego a 15-3 defeat at the Municipal tennis courts.
Today was the second time all season I had all of my top players available,” said Laguna Blanca coach Geoff Pryce. “If they all stay healthy, I think we should be able to finish out the season with three wins.”
The Owls currently stand at 3-5 overall and 1-2 in Condor League play.
Singles competitors Devon Stein and Emily Harrington formed a makeshift doubles team and picked up the Cardinals’ three wins.
“We were really grateful to have such good players to play against so that we could sharpen our skills,” said coach Suzanne Petrie, whose team is 8-4 overall and finished Frontier League competition at 8-0.
