Bulldogs no match for Dons, 18-2

The Santa Barbara boys water polo team didn’t have much trouble grabbing its second league victory on Tuesday, trouncing Buena 18-2 after shutting out the Bulldogs in the first half.

Hunter Ploch had 14 saves for the Dons in goal and made it into the field to score a goal on offense.

Ian Gamble led the Dons with four-goals scored, all in the first quarter. Brendan Kerwin-McElroy had his hand in everything, racking up four goals, two assists and three steals.

Sam Foley, Zach Sklar and Evan Schu all scored their first varsity goals on Tuesday, and Schu stopped a penalty shot in goal in the fourth quarter after taking Ploch’s place.

The Dons, ranked No. 4 in Division I, return home on Thursday for a Channel League match with crosstown rival San Marcos.
