Oxnard was not much of a test for the Santa Barbara High girls volleyball team on Thursday, as the Dons picked up a 25-8, 25-16, 25-16 home victory.
Assistant coach Lee Carlander highlighted the play of senior Claire Woolf at outside hitter as well as the back-row play of Sarah Mendoza.
Mimi Cuttrell was 5-for-5 hitting in the first game and also notched two blocks. Torrie Armstrong picked up a big block at the opposite hitter spot, and Carlander was also pleased with the play of Jessica Ullmeyer and Jordan Fuller, who had her own cheering section of water polo and basketball players.
The Dons (4-0) carry the third seed into this weekend’s Dave Mohs Tournament in Orange County.
