SBCC’s women’s volleyball team proved to be a tough test for unbeaten Golden West College, but Samantha Potter’s 13 kills and Vanessa Shaw’s 23 digs weren’t enough to escape a 26-24, 25-23, 26-24 loss to open up the Vaqueros’ Quad Tournament at the Sports Pavilion.
The loss to the state’s third-ranked team was followed by a defeat at the hands of Fullerton (25-10, 25-21, 25-18) despite 13 more put-aways from Potter and 20 digs from Shaw. The Vaqueros are now 1-5 on the year.
