Riverside scored in the 81st and 87th minute on Friday night at La Playa Stadium to hand SBCC its first men’s soccer loss.
The Vaqueros (2-1) had several scoring chances with Mark Knight missing an open net in the 49th minute and Sekou Rolland getting stopped on a point-blank chance in the 81st minute.
“We had a lot of chances, we just couldn’t finish,” said SBCC coach John Sisterson. “We defended sloppily twice and they hit the back of the net.”
The Vaqueros play host to Cypress on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
