Wigo reaches 100th win in record-breaking fashion

Wolf Wigo captured his 100th win at UCSB on Sunday as the Gauchos posted a pair of wins at the Inland Empire Classic in Redlands.UCSB toppled host Redlands, 20-6, before grabbing Wigo's 100th win and setting a school record for goals in a game with a 32-6 victory over Chapman.With the pair of wins, UCSB improves to 5-1 on the season. Nine high school standouts have been signed to National Letters of Intent it was announced by UCSB men’s water polo coach Wolf Wigo. UCSB is ranked seventh in the country in the Collegiate Water Polo Association Coaches Preseason Poll.The Gauchos, who return All-Americans Milos Golic and Zsombor Vincze,  were picked to finish sixth in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.MPSF powers Cal, UCLA, Stanford, USC and Irvine were ranked first through fifth in the national and MPSF polls. The UCSB men's water polo team was picked to finish fifth in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation standings according to a preseason coaches' poll released by the conference on Wednesday.The Gauchos received 32 points in the poll, 10 behind fourth-ranked UCLA and six points ahead of Pepperdine and UC Irvine, which were tied sixth.USC, the 2008 NCAA Champion and MPSF Champion, was ranked first with six first-place votes and 61 total points.
