FULLERTON — For the second night in a row, UCSB pushed seventh-ranked Cal State Fullerton to the limit, but, the Titans eked out a one-run victory over the Gauchos, 5-4.The loss, UCSB's third in a row by one run, drops the Gauchos to 14-15 overall and 2-3 in the Big West. Guard Orlando Johnson, who has led UCSB to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances for the first time in school history, has declared himself available for the 2011 NBA Draft. North Carolina became the first team to book its ticket for the NCAA Men’s College Cup in Santa Barbara on Friday night.The Tar Heels defeated SMU 4-2 in a penalty-kick shootout in an Elite Eight soccer match in Chapel Hill, N.C. There’s a new world champion in town.Kathrine Warren of Goleta claimed a world title as she won her age group at the ITU Triathlon World Championships Grand Finale on Sunday in Budapest, Hungary.Warren, a member of the UCSB triathlon team, took first place in the women’s 20-25 age group for the Olympic distance (1.5k swim, 40k bike, 10k run) with a time of 2 hours, 1 minute, 18 seconds.
