Schmidt’s All-American status matches Luedeke, Gehlke, Vargas

For the third straight season two UCSB women's volleyball players were named All-Americans, it was announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.Seniors Chelsey Lowe and Stacey Schmidt were named Honorable Mention All-Americans after turning in stellar seasons. UCSB not one of 64 in NCAA Tournament

UCSB women's volleyball team did not receive an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday when the 64-team field was announced.The Gauchos won seven of their final eight regular season games and finished second in the Big West with an 11-5 conference record. NORTHRIDGE  – UCSB needed just one lead in the final set. UCSB topped the Cal Poly Mustangs in a brisk three-game match on Saturday night, earning their third straight win and furthering their chances at earning a berth in the NCAA tournament.
