SBCC takes third in WSC Supremacy
SBCC placed third in Western State Conference Supremacy for the 2010-11 athletic season.The Vaqueros won WSC titles in women’s volleyball, baseball and softball. SBCC’s Zakarian named WSC Coach of the Year
After leading SBCC to the state playoffs in his first season at the helm, Armen Zakarian has been honored as the WSC men’s volleyball co-Coach of the Year.Zakarian, a former SBCC and UCSB standout, shared the award with El Camino’s Richard Blount. Someone jokingly told Jenn Waddill that her SBCC women‘s volleyball team should drive to Ventura and back just to make it feel like another road match prior to Tuesday‘s home opener in the Sports Pavilion.The Vaqueros opted to remain on campus and proceeded to sweep Bakersfield 25-11, 25-18, 25-19 for their eighth win in nine outings.
