CATHEDRAL CITY - UCSB (8-4) captured an 11-3 run-rule victory over Ohio State (4-9) on Saturday, the third day of the Cathedral City Classic.Right fielder Allison Taylor had a monster game for the Gauchos going 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs, four RBI and a home run. Buckeyes bounce Gauchos in first round

UCSB gets 15 seed, draws No. 2 Ohio State

UCSB, the Big West Tournament and regular season champions, has been awarded a 15th seed in the NCAA Midwest Regional and will meet Big Ten champion Ohio State in a first round game on Friday in Milwaukee.The Gauchos (20-9) defeated Long Beach State in the Big West Tournament title game on Saturday night to earn its first NCAA Tournament bid since 2002.
