SBCC opened its men’s volleyball season with a ninth-place finish at the 12-team Long Beach Invitational.The Vaqueros went 0-3 in pool play, then defeated Hope International 25-23 in the first round of the consolation playoffs. In the semifinals, they led L.A. Pierce 24-21 before dropping a 28-26 decision.Logan Wais had 41 kills and hit .329 in 10 sets.
