Team USA lost a double overtime thriller to Hungary, 9-8, at the FINA Women's Junior World Championships in Trieste, Italy on Thursday.Sami Hill (Dos Pueblos/UCLA) had her best game of the tournament with 15 saves, including two one-on-one stops. Kiley Neushul scored five goals to lead the U.S. Junior National Team to a 25-2 rout over Germany and a berth in the quarterfinals at the FINA Women’s Junior World Water Polo Championships in Trieste, Italy.The U.S. will play Hungary on Thursday for a chance to reach the semifinals.Neushul’s five goals led the Americans, who were coming off a 9-7 loss to Greece in their final group game. The Santa Barbara Water Polo Club produced four medal-winning girls teams at the National Junior Olympics in Orange County last week.The 12-under and 16-under teams captured gold medals while the 18U and 21U squads came home with silver medals after four days of competition.Coach Brian “Chuckie” Roth’s 12U girls set the pace, beating Laguna Beach in the “A” final, 11-5, at the William Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine.
