Dockendorf wins butterfly title at Junior Olympics

Recent Dos Pueblos graduate Michelle Dockendorf won the 200 breaststroke at the Southern California Junior Olympics last week in a time of 2:34.44. Scarvelis, Fernandez net top-10 finishes at JOs

Nick Scarvelis finished ninth in the shot put and Bryan Fernandez placed eighth in the 3000m at the USA Track & Field Junior Olympics on Thursday in Sacramento.Scarvelis competing in the Young Men’s Division with many of the top 17- to 18-year-old throwers in the country, had a best mark of 56 feet, 1/2 inch with the 12-pound shot.The winning throw was 62-1 by Ben Glauser, the Georgia state high school champion.
