Jeff Menzel pounded 15 kills and hit .448 powering the UCSB men’s volleyball team to a 25-22, 25-23, 25-23 sweep over Hawaii, gaining split of their two matches in Honolulu.The Gauchos hit .308 as a team and their defense clamped down on Hawaii’s top two hitters, Jonas Umlauft and Joshua Walker. The UCSB men’s volleyball team wasted no time against Pepperdine, winning in straight sets, 25-23, 25-13, 25-17, to snap a 10-match losing streak against the Waves.The Gauchos (5-3, 3-2 MPSF) played error-free volleyball for the greater part of the match on Friday at Rob Gym, committing only 20 unforced errors.The biggest difference was the offensive efficiency of the Gauchos. NORTHRIDGE - The 5th-ranked UCSB men's volleyball team bounced back from consecutive defeats with one of its best offensive performances in a 3-0 win at 11th-ranked Cal State Northridge on Friday night.The Gauchos easily walloped the Matadors in three sets, 25-22, 25-9 and 25-20.
