Jaimé Serna, who led UCSB to road wins at UC Davis and Pacific over the weekend, has been named Big West Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.Serna had two of the best games of his four-year Gaucho career in the victories.In Thursday night’s 86-59 win over UC Davis, the senior from Laguna Beach, had 18 points, five rebounds, one assist and a blocked shot. The UCSB men's basketball team blew out struggling UC Davis 86-59 and received double-digit scoring performances from five different players.Orlando Johnson led all scorers with 21 points to go along with three rebounds and six assists.Jaime Serna went 9-10 from the field and finished with 18 points. UCSB senior forward Jaime Serna has a sprained right wrist and is considered day-to-day.Serna fell on his wrist in Thursday's game against Cal State Fullerton and was immediately removed from the game in obvious pain. Once the juice started flowing on Tuesday, it was impossible for Portland to stop it. What started as a trickle in the first half turned into a flood as UCSB's men's basketball team used a strong second half to defeat visiting Portland University 83-69 at the Thunderdome.Johnson scored 19 of his 26 points in the final 20 minutes and totaled 12 rebounds on the night to help lead the Gauchos to a 4-0 start to the season.
