The UCSB women’s basketball team signed two top prep players to National Letters of Intent during the fall signing period.The Gauchos added a sharp-shooting guard as well as a powerful forward, both of whom will join the 13-time Big West champs for the 2011-12 season. Coaches rank UCSB 7th in water polo poll

UCSB is ranked seventh in the country in the Collegiate Water Polo Association Coaches Preseason Poll.The Gauchos, who return All-Americans Milos Golic and Zsombor Vincze,  were picked to finish sixth in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.MPSF powers Cal, UCLA, Stanford, USC and Irvine were ranked first through fifth in the national and MPSF polls. Hollands ties Zito with 16 Ks in Gaucho win

Mario Hollands pitched a complete game and tied the UC Santa Barbara single-game record for strikeouts with 16 as the Gauchos defeated Northern Illinois University 8-1 on Friday at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium.Hollands (2-0) started the game in style by striking out the side.
