Racich becomes 2-time Channel League MVP

Taylor Racich is a two-time Channel League MVP after receiving the distinction for the second-straight season.Dos Pueblos, led by league Coach of the Year Todd Garrett, won seven-of-eight games in league play to clinch its third-straight league title. Wopat receives All-America honorable mention

Former Dos Pueblos Charger Carly Wopat earned All-American honorable mention honors for Stanford when the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its selections on Wednesday.Wopat's Stanford teammate and fellow sophomore Rachel Williams also earned the same honors.The selections bring Stanford's total AVCA All-America award count to 68 honors spread over 28 players. Dos Pueblos will take on Redondo Union in the second round of the CIF Division 1-AA girl volleyball playoffs at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Sovine Gym.The start time is earlier because of the DP-San Marcos football game at Scott O'Leary Stadium.The Chargers, seeded third in the tournament, received a first-round bye. Dos Pueblos earned a No. 3 seed and a first-round bye for the CIF-SS Division 1-AA girls volleyball playoffs.The pairings were released Saturday.The Chargers (25-5) appear to be peaking at the right time of the year.
