Records fell like dominoes at the Dos Pueblos Invitational on Friday, as Dos Pueblos' Bryan Fernandez and Sergey Sushchikh, and San Marcos' Evan Bradford all broke meet records on the Shoreline Park course.The DP Invitational ran for its fifth year, using its traditional grade-based format. Cougar depth nets narrow win over DP at Lagoon

Usually, Dos Pueblos' Lagoon Meet awards just the winners from each age group. This year, however, coach Leslie Wiggins-Roth changed the format to make it a team competition in which each squad's top-nine finishers are scored.DP beat Ventura on Wednesday in the first Channel league meet, but the Cougars had just enough depth to prevail in Saturday's format, edging the Chargers 138-139. DP’s Sushchikh takes first in 115-man field

Dos Pueblos junior Sergey Sushchikh was absolutely outstanding for the Charger cross-country team Saturday, winning the 115-competitor boys race at the Morro Bay Invitational with a time of 14:43."No DP guy has won the race since Will Yochum did his senior year (2006-07), and Will only ran a 15:16.
