Legg leads Foresters to World Series berth

The Santa Barbara Foresters are headed to Wichita once again.Third baseman Derek Legg had a home run and four RBIs on Sunday as the two-time national champs climbed out of a 2-0 deficit to beat the Menlo Park Legends 6-2 in the Rawlings California Cup championship game at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium.The win gives the Foresters (23-8, 16-8 CCL) an automatic bid to the National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita, KS, next month. Foresters run wild against Oaks

The Santa Barbara Foresters recorded seven stolen bases and stole home twice in the first two innings of Tuesday night’s 15-4 rout of the Conejo Oaks in a California Collegiate League baseball game at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium.The first inning resembled a high school track meet more than a baseball game as three runners advanced on wild pitches from Oaks’ starter Travis Radke (Portland), in addition to the stolen bases.
