CATHEDRAL CITY - The UCSB softball team split its final two games at the Cathedral City Classic on Sunday. Taylor leads UCSB trouncing of Buckeyes
CATHEDRAL CITY - UCSB (8-4) captured an 11-3 run-rule victory over Ohio State (4-9) on Saturday, the third day of the Cathedral City Classic.Right fielder Allison Taylor had a monster game for the Gauchos going 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs, four RBI and a home run. Gauchos beaten by two nationally ranked teams
The UCSB softball team lost to a pair of nationally ranked programs on Thursday at the Cathedral City Classic. The Gauchos dropped a 9-1 decision to No. 19 Oklahoma State (9-2) before being edged out, 2-0, by No. 8 Tennessee (10-2) later in the day. The losses mark the Gauchos' first of the season by more than one run. They also marked the first time that UCSB has been out-hit by its competition.
