Yingst, Chargers sweep Harvard-Westlake

Sally Yingst pounded a team-high 13 kills and tallied six digs as the No. 2 Dos Pueblos girls volleyball team picked up a 25-23, 25-14, 27-25 win over visiting Harvard-Westlake on Saturday afternoon."It was a battle for every point with a very good team. DP spikers surface on MaxPreps’ national top-25

The Dos Pueblos High girls volleyball team has been ranked No. 7 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 national poll.The Chargers return several players from last year's squad that lost in the CIF final to crosstown rival Santa Barbara. Among those returnees are senior twins Carly and Samantha Wopat, who both have committed to Stanford. Local track athletes move on to CIF from Channel League

Numerous local tracksters put up big performances in Thursday's Channel League Championships, which were moved from San Marcos' Valley Stadium to Buena High School due to the Jesusita Fire.
