Orlando Johnson gave Bob Williams an exclamation mark for his 223rd career victory at UCSB, sinking a 3-pointer with 5.1 seconds left in Monday's game that lifted the Gauchos to a 58-57 Big West Conference win at Cal Poly.Williams surpassed Jerry Pimm as the all-time leader for coaching victories at UCSB with No. 223 and did it with a dramatic finish. OTTAWA, Ontario - When its bus driver got lost going from the hotel to Carleton University for an exhibition game on Thursday night, the UCSB basketball team should have gotten the message.The adventure of the wayward driver was soon followed by a slow start in the Gauchos 71-61 loss to Carleton, the defending Canadian National Champion. Williams adds Madry to basketball coaching staff
UCSB men's basketball coach Bob Williams returned to a familiar source to complete his coaching staff for the 2011-12 season, adding Ryan Madry who spent the 2010-11 season as the Director of Basketball Operations at Cal State Fullerton.Madry replaces Jono Metzger-Jones, who left the Gauchos’ staff in May to become the lead assistant at the University of Montana.
