Crucial Big West match goes to Mustangs

On the strength of two second half goals, visiting Cal Poly defeated UCSB on Sunday afternoon, 2-0. The victory gives the Mustangs the Big West regular season title and the No. 1 seed in this week's Big West Tournament. DAVIS - UCSB scored three goals in the first 9:28 on Friday afternoon en route to a 4-1 win at UC Davis. Tonight's Big West men's soccer match between UCSB and UC Davis has been moved to Thursday in response to heavy rains in Davis the past 36 hours. Myers gets UCSB baseball promotion

Tom Myers, who is entering his 10th season as a coach with the UCSB baseball team, has been promoted to Associate Head Coach, it was announced on Wednesday by Director of Athletics, Mark Massari.Myers has been the Gauchos' assistant coach, pitching coach and recruiting coordinator during his time at UCSB under head coach Bob Brontsema, while his other duties have included academic affairs and Gaucho Baseball Camp.
