Dos Pueblos had a number of quality performances at Saturday's Division 2 CIF Prelims at Moorpark College, but none bigger than Stamatia Scarvelis' winning shot put throw.Scarvelis, a sophomore, threw 49 feet, 5.5 inches to win the event with the best throw in the state so far this season. Final race leads Royals to a one-point victory

Dos Pueblos distance runner Addi Zerrenner headlined the Santa Barbara County Track & Field Championships on Saturday by setting two meet records at Carpinteria Valley Memorial Stadium.Zerrenner shattered the record in the 3200 meter by 11 seconds with a new standard of 10:44.18. Dos Pueblos' boys track & field team edged Buena on Thursday by a single point while the girls team won by a wider margin at 93-37.The boys meet was scored 64-63 in Dos Pueblos' favor.A chunk of the Charger boys' points came in the 100 meters, which was swept by Jordan Degraffinreid (11.69), John Norris (12.03) and LeShon Bell (12.04).
