At 74 years young, Jeff Farrell can swim faster than many people.The two-time Olympic gold medalist finished ahead of 20 swimmers in the 1-kilometer ocean swim at the Reef and Run Series Tuesday night at East Beach. Jon Clark tuned up to defend his Semana Nautica Biathlon title this weekend by winning Tuesday night’s Santa Barbara Reef and Run Series duathalon at East Beach.Tuesday's event was part of the Semana Nautica summer sports festival.Clark, 50, a multi-time winner of the biathlon, covered the 1k swim and 5k run in 38 minutes, 56 seconds. Bell, 13, captures 4th Nite Moves swim

Thirteen-year-old Walker Bell won his fourth Nite Moves 1-kilometer swim Wednesday night, churning through wind-waves to finish in 14 minutes, 20 seconds.Walker, who is preparing to compete in the 5k at the U.S. Open Water Championships next weekend in Fort Lauderdale, finished ahead of second-place swimmer Jim West by 39 seconds.COMPLETE RESULTSWalker is an 8th grader at Laguna Blanca School. The “Dominator” was at it again at East Beach on Tuesday.Jon Clark, who has dominated the Semana Nautica 5-mile biathlon since the mid-1980s, tuned up for this summer’s competition by winning the weekly Reef and Run Series duathalon.Clark covered the 1-kilometer swim and 2-mile run in 31 minutes, 43 seconds.
