The boys soccer teams from San Marcos High and Grammar High of Leeds, England played an international friendly game at Girsh Park.

It was an off  day off from the World Cup on Thursday, but there was international soccer being played in Goleta.

San Marcos High’s frosh-soph and varsity boys soccer teams played against squads from Grammar High School of Leeds, England at Girsh Park.

The San Marcos varsity lost a 1-0 decision. Grammar scored the lone goal in the second half.

In the first game, Grammar’s younger team, made up mostly 16 year olds, defeated the San Marcos frosh-soph, 6-2. Christian Dominguez and Carlos Mendoza scored for the Royals.

After the last match, the boys joined together to share a barbecue with hot dogs and all the fixings.

The England boys head next for several more matches in L.A. and San Diego before heading home.
