Gauchos fall in four against Long Beach St.

LONG BEACH – The 15th-ranked UCSB men's volleyball team was able to steal a set from 10th-ranked Long Beach State, but the visiting Gauchos went down to defeat in four sets, 25-20, 28-30, 25-15, 25-20.The Gauchos (4-8 overall, 2-6 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) were led by Miles Evans and Kevin Donohue who had 16 and 13 kills, respectively. The Gauchos defeated the Cal State Northridge Matadors in straight sets on Wednesday night, giving the UCSB just their second sweep of the young season. SBCC shook off the effects of an early-morning, 4-hour drive to outlast Palomar 3-2 and then defeated San Diego City 3-1 in the WSC vs. Pacific Coast Athletic Conference men’s volleyball challenge at Palomar College.Matt Winslow and Collin Cohen had 11 kills each as the Vaqueros (4-2) rallied from a 2-1 deficit to beat Palomar 12-25, 25-20, 25-27, 25-21, 15-8.
