Despite losing two straight matches to BYU, and falling behind two sets to none in Saturday night's match, the Gauchos were able to pull off a five-set comeback in what is certainly their most impressive win of the season.Austin Kingi, playing in just his second career match, displayed what made him an attractive recruit in the first place, leading all players with 18 kills- 11 more than he had in his debut on Friday night. Gauchos fall in four against Long Beach St.

LONG BEACH – The 15th-ranked UCSB men's volleyball team was able to steal a set from 10th-ranked Long Beach State, but the visiting Gauchos went down to defeat in four sets, 25-20, 28-30, 25-15, 25-20.The Gauchos (4-8 overall, 2-6 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) were led by Miles Evans and Kevin Donohue who had 16 and 13 kills, respectively. Cody Kreitzer had 13 kills and Matt Winslow added 12 on Friday night as SBCC swept defending state champion Irvine Valley in the Sports Pavilion. UCSB, Evans overpower Cal State Northridge

The Gauchos defeated the Cal State Northridge Matadors in straight sets on Wednesday night, giving the UCSB just their second sweep of the young season. SBCC secures wins in San Diego

SBCC shook off the effects of an early-morning, 4-hour drive to outlast Palomar 3-2 and then defeated San Diego City 3-1 in the WSC vs. Pacific Coast Athletic Conference men’s volleyball challenge at Palomar College.Matt Winslow and Collin Cohen had 11 kills each as the Vaqueros (4-2) rallied from a 2-1 deficit to beat Palomar 12-25, 25-20, 25-27, 25-21, 15-8. Former Santa Barbara High Don Jeremy Casebeer blocked out the chants of "traitor" from a raucous crowd at Rob Gym to lead the No. 1 UCLA men's volleyball team to a victory of UCSB in four sets.“I enjoy playing at home with family and friends in the crowd. Santa Barbara will always be a special place for legendary UCLA men’s volleyball coach Al Scates.Scates, who is retiring at the end of this season, his 50th at the helm of the Bruins, makes his final visit to UCSB’s Rob Gym on Friday.
