Westmont Men's Tennis lost a 5-0 match to top-seeded Fresno Pacific on Thursday at the NAIA Men's Tennis Championship in Mobile, Alabama. Warriors travel to Alabama for NAIA tennis championships
Head coach Mark Basham will take his eighth-ranked Westmont men's tennis team (11-9) to Mobile, Alabama for the third time in as many years. Tim Goranson and John Bertram had a deep run in the men's independent college doubles division of the 112th Ojai Valley Tournament but fell just short of winning the championship.After defeating the number one and three seeds earlier in the tournament, the Westmont duo lost to second-seeded Gernot Hageman and Bruno Santarelli of Concordia in the championship match. Westmont Men's Tennis began competition in the 112th Ojai Valley Tournament on Friday in both singles and doubles competition.Bryan Cox won his first two singles matches to advance to the quarterfinals tomorrow morning. In his first match, Cox, who is seeded at number four, cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Jonathan Pollare of Whittier in the Round of 32.
