Santa Barbara swim teams finish second in Channel League

Royals swim strong against Orcutt

The San Marcos swim team posted several impressive individual performances in its dual meet with Orcutt Academy.In the boys race, Abhi Sarkar-Frandsen won the 50 yard freestyle (22.66), which is a CIF qualifying time. He also bettered that time when he swam the first leg of the 200 yard freestyle relay in a time of 22.51. The Santa Barbara High swim team recorded wins in both the boys and girls meets against Buena on Tuesday.Seven different boys won events, highlighted by Nick Johnson's victory in the 500 yard freestyle, Carter Kimball in diving and Cristian Bridley in the 100 yard backstroke. The San Marcos swim team had several successful finishers in its meet with Buena.The overall team scores ended with boys losing 102-65 and the girls winning 109-73.For the boys, Abhi Sarkar-Frandsen won the 50 yard freestyle (22.80) and the 100 yard free style (50.11). Dos Pueblos' swim teams swept Ventura on Thursday in Channel League dual-meets. Cate School recorded three CIF consideration times and a number of personal bests at Wednesday’s meet with Santa Clara.Starting off the meet, Anna Lueck swam lowered her PR by nine seconds and gained a CIF consideration time in the 200 IM. The Dos Pueblos girls swim team ended the Mt. The Dos Pueblos boys swim team finished seventh out of 27 teams at the Mt. SAC invitational, despite bringing just five athletes to the meet.Nic Lum took third place in the 200 yard freestyle (144.67) and sixth in the 500 yard freestyle (444.22).
