It is a new week for the UCSB softball team, but unfortunately last week's offensive struggles have carried over as Santa Barbara dropped its first two games at the Gaucho Classic on Thursday at Campus Diamond. UCSB was unable to match-up with No. 4 UCLA on Wednesday as the Gauchos fell twice to the Bruins during their 2010 home opener at Campus Diamond. Four SBCC pitchers combined on a four-hitter Thursday and the defense was spectacular in a 2-1 nonconference softball victory over L.A. Fueled by the offense of the Cannon twins, SBCC opened its softball season with a 24-run eruption on Saturday in a sweep of Foothill at Pershing Park.
