Alyse Harris and Celeste Acosta turned in a pair of pitching gems on Friday, leading the SBCC softball team to a two wins at the San Diego City Invitational. UCSB softball suffered a pair of tough losses on Friday, the opening day of the Campbell/Cartier Classic. Tuesday’s win was extra sweet for the SBCC softball team. The Vaqueros topped L.A. Mission 7-3 for their first victory in their home debut. The UC Santa Barbara softball team opened the 2012 campaign on Thursday afternoon against No. 9/14 Tennessee (1-0) at the Kajikawa Classic, which is being hosted by Arizona State. SBCC dropped a wild 11-10 game to Glendale in its softball season opener on Saturday at the Mt. SAC Tournament. In a night game, the Vaqueros led Mt. Jessica Soria, a transfer from Arizona Western College, will join the UCSB softball team for the 2012 season it was announced by head coach Brie Galicinao. The outfielder is a two-time National Junior College Athletic Association Division I First Team All-American.Soria, who hails from Simi Valley, led Arizona Western College in batting the past two seasons.
