If there was one player in need of a good game for the Santa Barbara Breakers, it was guard Tim Taylor.After scoring just four points last weekend on 1-13 shooting, including 0-7 from behind the arc, Taylor bounced back with a resounding 26 points. San Marcos' girls 4x400 relay team made the cut at Saturday's CIF Division 3 Prelims for the chance to compete at next week's CIF Finals at Mt. SAC.The team of Jillian Fisher, Kaylin Koopmans, Annie Thwing and Emily Allen posted a season-best time of 4:05.10 to finish ninth overall at Prelims. Kristin Hempy improved her heptathlon score by 53 points while competing at the Claremont Classic IX Heptathlon on Thursday and Friday.Hempy entered the competition with the thirteenth highest score recorded in the NAIA this season and as of Saturday morning, moved up to number 11. Cecilia Instebo and Zoe Davis of SBCC both placed seventh on Saturday in the Southern Cal Track & Field Finals at San Diego Mesa to earn spots in the State Championships.Instebo lowered her PR in the 3000 Steeplechase by 14 seconds with an 11:34 clocking.
