SBSC U-14 White bring home National Cup title

The Santa Barbara Soccer Club's Boys Under-14 White won the Cal South National Cup championship. The team won seven matches in the tournament.

The U14 Girls white team had an incredible State Cup run scoring 24 goals for and only giving up 4 over their 7 games streak leading to the finals.In the finals, the U14G team was in a defensive battle with NC-Boca. SBVC teams in Open Division at Junior Nationals

Two teams from the Santa Barbara Volleyball Club - 18-Smack and 15-Smack - have received at-large bids for the Open Division of the Junior Nationals in Columbus, Ohio.“I think the coaching staff knew early on that we were an Open level team," said 18-Smack coach Jason Donnelly. SBVC'S WEEKLY REPORT: On Saturday in Anaheim, The 14-Smack team had an outstanding day in Division 3 on a comeback mission to move back up to Division 2. Having a significant lead in most of the sets, the team managed to stay focused and outplay their opponent.The team beat Impact 14-Craig, LAVA-South 14-Casey, and Sports Shack 14-1 to take first in pool play. Mari Solis of the Santa Barbara SC GU16 White team has been on an amazing adventure and returned a better, stronger more experienced player and person as a result.Mari was invited to join the Mexican National Team program on a try-out basis. Competing in Division I, Santa Barbara Volley Club's 18-Smack team won its pool to go on and compete in the first two playoff rounds this weekend in Anaheim. Sharpe’s winning hit lifts DPLL’s Cubs

D.J. Sharpe singled in the winning run to cap a four-run, two-out rally in the fifth inning, leading the Dos Pueblos Little League Juniors Division Cubs over the DPLL Yankees 5-4. The win captured the first-ever Greater Santa Barbara Youth Baseball Upper Division 2012 Tournament Championship on Monday at Goleta Valley South Little League. SBSC’s Boys U16 White Team will be participating in the WCDA Finals to be held in Redmond, Washington June 1-3, 2012.The trip to the finals was the result of 8 consecutive wins versus teams from the Western states played from August 2011 through March 2012 leading to a 1st place finish in the Southwest Division.The boys beat some high quality opponents including Diablo FC 3 -0 who won the North Pacific Div. of WCDA & are the defending champions of the prestigious Surf Cup.
