Marymount captured all three titles at the recent Christian Athletic League basketball tournament held at Bishop Diego High School.A.V. Bennett was named MVP for leading the Marymount varsity past St. Raphael in the championship game. Marymount jumped out to a big lead in the first half and held off the Chargers in the second half to record a 54-41 victory. Mt. The Santa Barbara Volleyball Club 16s took to the court for Southern California Volleyball Association qualifying round action.The 16-Smack won its Gold Bracket pool and earned a bye for the second qualifying round. The Santa Barbara Riptide 11u baseball team participated in its first tournament last weekend in Oxnard. The Riptide is comprised of 11 year olds ranging from Santa Barbara to Santa Maria.The Riptide took the field in their first ever contest against the Westlake Stars. The Spartans, an under-12 boys AYSO soccer team, recently completed a stellar 2011 season.
