Crumpley nets NSCAA All-American honors

SBCC defender Morgan Crumpley has been named first-team All-West Region and second-team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.Jessica Domenichelli, the second-leading scorer in the state, was a second-team All-West choice. Domenichelli set school records with 27 goals and 64 points this year. Hartnell scored twice in the first 21 minutes on Friday afternoon and went on to bleat SBCC 3-0 in the Community College State Men's Soccer semifinals at Cosumnes River in Sacramento.The Vaqueros, the No. 2 seed in the South, had their nine-game win streak snapped and finished at 18-2-4. SBCC works overtime to earn trip back to final four

After a 13-year absence, the SBCC men’s soccer team is going back to the State Final Four.The Vaqueros punched their ticket on Saturday night, beating Golden West 2-0 in overtime at La Playa Stadium.Duran Stanley broke a scoreless draw in the 100th minute, putting away a deflected free kick by Jordan Tabor. SBCC will host Golden West in the Southern California Regional men's soccer finals on Saturday at 7 p.m. in La Playa Stadium.The Vaqueros, seeded No. 3 with a 17-1-4 record, have won eight straight including playoff victories over L.A. Harbor (2-1) and Rio Hondo (3-0). Duran Stanley did it all on Tuesday night at La Playa Stadium, scoring a pair of goals and drawing a penalty kick in SBCC’s 3-0 shutout of Rio Hondo in the second round of the Southern Cal Regional men’s soccer playoffs.Stanley, a freshman from Honduras who played for Santa Barbara High a few years ago, opened the scoring in the 19th minute. Kelsie Bryant of the Carpinteria girls tennis team and Santa Barbara City College soccer player Jordan Tabor have been named the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Athletes of the Week.Bryant, a freshman, helped Carpinteria reach the CIF team tennis finals for the first time in 34 years. SBCC was seeded No. 2 for the Southern Cal Regional women’s soccer playoffs and will host San Bernardino Valley on Saturday. The game will be played at 2 p.m. at Westmont College in the second half of a doubleheader with the Vaquero men’s team.Santa Barbara went 16-2 in the regular season and 11-1 in the WSC North, sharing the conference crown with Ventura.
