Mari Solis of the Santa Barbara SC GU16 White team has been on an amazing adventure and returned a better, stronger more experienced player and person as a result.Mari was invited to join the Mexican National Team program on a try-out basis. The Carpinteria girls soccer team traveled to play Katella in the first round of the CIF Division 5 playoffs. The game was scoreless for the first 82 minutes, but the home team scored a goal in added time to win 1-0 and knock out the Warriors.Carpinteria finished with an 11-5-4 overall record and a 6-1-3 Frontier League record which landed the team in second place. Dos Pueblos' first-round CIF victory came with heavy hearts on Friday, as the Chargers defeated Royal 2-1 on the birthday of Lindsay Rose, who tragically passed away after a surfing accident in April of 2009.
