Daniel Marshall put up 24 points and 10 rebounds for Santa Barbara High's boys basketball team on Monday, but the Dons were outplayed in the fourth quarter and dropped a 60-53 decision to Saugus.Sebastian Molina recorded 16 points in his first start for the Dons and Marshall and Molina each knocked down three 3-pointers.Jeremy Gatewood scored 14 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter for Saugus, helping them extend a slim 1-point lead at the end of the third quarter. Sushchikh leads local pack at Foot Locker regional

Dos Pueblos' Sergey Sushchikh kept his stellar cross country season alive on Saturday, qualifying for the Foot Locker National Championships by finishing 10th at the Western Regional at Mt. DiMarco leads unbeaten Chargers to tourney title over Dons

Chiara DiMarco's MVP performance at the Lompoc Tournament took the Chargers all the way to the tournament title on Saturday, as the Chargers were able to top Channel League rival Santa Barbara 70-56.DiMarco led the Chargers with 20 points against the Dons, leading three teammates in double figures. Tess Emerson put on a dominating performance in the first half and Zoe Echternacht played a solid game to help the Santa Barbara High girls basketball team defeat Cabrillo 60-22 at the Lompoc Tournament.Emerson scored 13 points in the first half and had 17 points and 10 rebounds by halftime. Tess Emerson started her senior season with a double-double to lead Santa Barbara High’s girls basketball team to a 46-30 rout over host Lompoc in the first round of the Lompoc Tournament.The Pepperdine-bound Emerson scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a game the Dons blew open in the middle two quarters. Santa Barbara girls soccer coach Brian Lloyd saw improvement in his team in Thursday’s 1-1 tie against visiting Oxnard.“We’re playing better than our results,” Lloyd said after his team’s record went to 0-2-1. “We’re playing good competition.
