Elizabeth Beebe knows all about dealing with adversity.For two years, the Providence Hall athlete couldn’t play sports because of a nagging foot injury suffered during her freshman year. It was a difficult time for her. She came to the school as a heralded athlete from La Colina Junior High.But Beebe stayed positive and continued to attend team practices and often kept the team scorebook and did stats during games. Providence Hall's girls basketball team reached the Division VI CIF Championship game in 2012.

The Providence Hall Lions will play in the Condor League, beginning the 2012-13 school year.“We are absolutely thrilled to accept this invitation,” states Providence Hall athletic director Keith Luberto. “The Condor League schools, like Providence Hall, are academically rigorous; are similar in size; and are close by geographically. SB County Championships: Zerrenner puts name on two county records

Dos Pueblos distance runner Addi Zerrenner headlined the Santa Barbara County Track & Field Championships on Saturday by setting two meet records at Carpinteria Valley Memorial Stadium.Zerrenner shattered the record in the 3200 meter by 11 seconds with a new standard of 10:44.18. Owls sweep away Lions

The Laguna Blanca boys volleyball team swept Providence Hall at home on Tuesday.The set scores were 25 - 21, 25 - 20, and 25 - 18.J.T. Cate's boys volleyball team bested Providence Hall in Sprague Gym on Wednesday 25-19, 26-28, 25-19, 25-13.Senior outside hitter Bowen Baker led the Rams with 11 kills. Spencer Whiteman posted 10 kills and Walker Ross and Michael Castaneda recorded nine each. All-Academic CIF teams heavy with local schools

Sports teams from San Marcos, Santa Barbara High and Dos Pueblos received All-Academic CIF distinctions from the Southern Section, it was announced this week.In total, Dos Pueblos was named six times, San Marcos twice and Santa Barbara High once. That means local schools took 9 of the 22 first-place opportunities amongst schools with enrollments larger than 1500. The teams with the highest collective GPA in each sport receive the award. Faith Emerson and Sydney Hedges made the Southern Section's All-CIF Division 6 girls basketball team, it was announced Monday.The duo represent Providence Hall, which made the CIF Division 6 championship game in only its second year of sanctioned CIF competition.
