Cate School's Ema Boateng has been named the Gatorade California Boys Soccer Player of the Year, it was announced on Tuesday.Boateng led the Rams to a Southern Section CIF championship in March. Justin Lucchessi pitched all seven innings for the Cate School baseball team and led the Rams to a 5-0 victory over Ojai Valley.This was the season finale for Cate, who finished with a 4-2 record in the Condor League, which landed them in second place behind Dunn.Lucchessi struck out eight batters and walked three while allowing four hits. Cate School's boys volleyball team dominated its playoff opener on Tuesday, downing visiting Pilibos 25-16, 25-15, 25-18 in a Division-5 match.Bowen Baker led the team in kills with 12 on 29 attempts. Spencer Whiteman converted six kills on just 10 attempts.
