Carpinteria's six-run sixth inning was the knock-out blow in an 8-0 second-round CIF win for the Warriors softball team on Tuesday, as visiting Whitney could not crack Catalina Maldonado in the Division-6 playoff game.The third-seeded Warriors advance to Thursday's quarterfinals, where they will host Yucca Valley, 6-5 winners over Rim of the World. Scarvelis wins CIF Division 2 shot put title

She wasn’t having her best day of throwing, but Dos Pueblos sophomore Stamatia Scarvelis kept her composure and uncorked a mark of 45-3 to win the Division 2 shot put title at the CIF Divisional Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Mt. Warriors secure first-round CIF victory

As CIF softball brackets were released on Monday, Dos Pueblos' path towards a possible second-straight CIF title became a little clearer.The reigning Division 4 champs will host a wild-card winner on Thursday in the first round. The Carpinteria softball team finished the year with a perfect 10-0 record against Frontier League opponents after dominating Villanova 17-0.The highlight of Thursday's game was Dakota Wilcox's two home runs in the sixth inning. Warriors season ends with 1-0 thriller at Malibu

The Carpinteria baseball team was inches away from forcing extra innings, but ended up losing 1-0 at Malibu. Carpinteria's baseball team locked up an important Tri-Valley League victory on Tuesday by topping Malibu 7-5 on Senior Day.The victory moves the Warriors (10-11, 5-6) into a tie in the league standings with Malibu (14-9, 5-6). Carpinteria's softball team clinched its Frontier League championship outright on Tuesday by defeating second-place Santa Paula 6-5.The Warriors, ranked No. 5 in Division 5, have won six straight and 11 of their last 12.Carpinteria held a 6-1 lead until Santa Paula made things interesting with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
